Knights Set for The American Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF cross country team returns to action for the 2018 American Athletic Conference Championship on Thursday.

The 6K race will take place at the Golf Club at Audobon Park in New Orleans, La. Due to incoming inclement weather, the race time was moved up for an 8 a.m. CT/9 a.m. ET start and will stream for free on the American Digital Network.

UCF enters the conference meet having a trio of top-five finishes this season and finishing in the top 10 of each meet this season.

With every race this season, all their times have continued to improve. At the 2018 conference race, the Knights look to use a mixture of newcomers and returners to improve on their 11th place finish from last year.

Victoria Jung is set for her third conference meet. The Lakeland, Fla., native enters the meet with a trio of top 10 finishes this season and has been the first Knight to cross the finish line three times in 2018.

Charlotte Crook and Jessica Dolan will both make their conference championship debut. Crook was UCF’s top performer at the Mountain Dew Invitational, while Dolan has been among three finishers three times this season.

Thursday’s race will also serve as the War on I-4 rivalry meet between the Knights and USF. The Black and Gold hold a 9-0 lead this season after picking up victories in volleyball and men’s soccer.
