Jennings Named National Player of the Week

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Cal Jennings was named College Soccer News’ National Player of the Week after his performance in UCF’s pair of wins last week.

The junior is not slowing down after grabbing four goals last week in two matches. Jennings recorded his third hat trick of the season in the 5-1 over FGCU and scored in the first minute in the win over USF.

The native from Roswell, Ga., ended his week leading the Knights to two wins, while tallying eight points and 11 shots with five being on target.

On the season, Jennings has notched 18 goals and four assists for 40 points in 13 games played.

Jennings has been one of the top forwards in the nation since week one of the season. Jennings is second in the country in total goals, total points, game-winning goals, goals per game, and first in shots per game. He also leads the American Athletic Conference in those same categories.

Also in The American, Jennings holds the single season record for goals and points with two matches left in the regular season. The junior is third in program history for most goals scored in a single season.

Jennings’ was also named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Team of the Week and The American Honor Roll.
