ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Yannik Oettl was named Goalkeeper of the Week by the American Athletic Conference for the third time this season announced Monday.
Oetll played two more full matches last week, both resulting in wins to improve to 10-2-2 this season. Oettl has played all of UCF’s battles between the post.
In the two matches, the Munich, Germany native recorded 11 saves including seven against USF, a season high. Oettl came in clutch for the Knights against the Bulls coming up with multiple saves late in the second half to secure the 2-1 victory.
This is the sixth weekly award from The American overall this season. Previous weekly award winnings include Louis Perez (Aug.27) and Cal Jennings (Sept. 3 & 17) grabbing Offensive Player of the Week, while Oettl has notched three awards for Goalkeeper of the Week (Sept. 10, Oct. 1 & 22).
