WINDERMERE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – On a windy day at Isleworth Golf and Country Club, the Knights wrapped up the opening round of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational eight-over par with a 296.
Bobby Bai paced UCF after day one with a 71(-1) and tied for 15th place. Kyler Tate was just behind Bai shooting a 73(+1) with a pair of birdies.
Freshman, Clement Charmasson started the day off three-over on the back nine but finished strong on the front one-under par and converting birdies on three of this last four holes. Charmasson ended the day two-over par.
The Knights other newcomer, Pedro Lencart Silva also found his groove the second half of the day and converted an eagle on a par five to regain some lost ground finishing with a 78(+6).
Jalen Ledger had a calm back nine for the first part of his round and finished eight-over par.
The Black and Gold tallied up 11 birdies in total along with 55 pars heading into Monday’s action.
