Fall Named to Abdul-Jabbar Award Watch List

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) –For the second straight year, UCF’s Tacko Fall has been named to the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award Watch List prior to the start of the season, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Friday.

Honoring the top center in men’s college basketball annually, the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award will be narrowed down to 10 in mid-February and finally five finalists will be selected in March. The winner will be presented at the 5th annual ESPN College Basketball Awards Show live from Los Angeles on April 12.

Fall, who has now met Abdul-Jabbar on multiple occasions to gain knowledge in areas both on and off the court, was among the final 10 honorees for the award two seasons ago when the Knights made their run to the NIT Semifinals.

A senior, Fall is second all-time in UCF history with 195 blocked shots and seventh all-time with 636 career rebounds. He was the 2017 American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and earned Preseason Second Team All-Conference honors by The American this season.
