ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Due to Hurricane Michael, the UCF cross country team had a slight schedule change for this weekend. The Knights will now travel to Tampa for the South Florida Invitational on Friday evening.
The women’s 5K race will start at 5 p.m.
UCF is coming off a Top 10 finish at the Mountain Dew Invitational on Sept. 26 where the Knights beat out Jacksonville, FAU, Miami, South Florida, and Stetson in the team standings.
All seven Knights improved their personal best times and finished in the top 125 of 270 runners. With every race this season, all their times have continued to improve.
Charlotte Crook was the first Knight to reach the finish line at the Mountain Dew Invitational to place 28th. Crystal Tejeda shaved a minute off her personal best in the 5K, marking her first under-20 minute run at UCF.
This race marks the final competition before the American Athletic Conference Championship, which takes place on Oct. 25 in New Orleans.
