Nesukaityte Wins Collegiate Single

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF rowing team closed out Head of the Oklahoma action on Sunday with single and pair racing.

Five Knights finished in the top 10 of the collegiate single race, led by Edvina Nesukaityte. The senior was the first to cross the finish line with a winning time of 17:41.43.

Lara Maule followed Nesukaityte with a second place finish, posting a 17:46.25 mark. Abbie Pritchard, Michaela Gundrum and Luci Derrick took eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively.

All eight of UCF’s single competitors finished in the top 15 out of the 22 racers. Jacinta Kendall finished 11th, and Mia Cleary and Magdalena Pasternak finished 13th and 14th, respectively.

In the pair, Lauryn Bench and Amy Licht finished 19th with a time of 18:07.94, while Chiara Ciullo and Leslie Lajoie finished 22nd with a time of 18:21.48.

UCF returns to action on Oct. 6, hosting Nova Southeastern on Lake Pickett.
