VALENTINE, Neb. (UCFKnights.com) – Once again, the UCF men’s golf team is in first place after one round at the Jackrabbit Invitational. The Knights shot 281(-7) through the first 18 holes with Kyler Tate pacing UCF.

Tate finished with a 68(-4) and sits in third place after the first day. The senior started off the day with a trio of birdies and ended the day with eight total.

Pedro Lencart Silva wrapped up just behind Tate tied for fourth with a 70, while Jalen Ledger finished one-under par with a 71.

Tied for 13th overall is Tommy Cao who shot even on the day. Cao eagled on the sixth hole and added a pair of birdies, while Clement Charmasson shot one-over in his first collegiate team event.

Competing individually, Colin Kresl finished with a 78 on the day after collecting two birdies.

The Black and Gold pace the field in lowest scoring average on par fours and fives. The Knights averaged 3.92 strokes per par four as a team and 4.65 strokes per par five.

The Knights finished head of 12 other teams Sunday including Kansas, Missouri, Idaho, and Wichita State.

UCF tees off in the morning to begin the second round.
