ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Junior forward Cal Jennings has been named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after his impressive performance last week for the Knights. The conference announced the award on Monday.
Jennings etched his name in the record books after netting the 36th hat trick in program history and the first of his career in the 4-1 win over Liberty on Aug. 31. Jennings also added an assist in the draw against No. 17 Virginia Tech as he tallied up seven points.
The Roswell, Ga. native also led the squad in total shots with 12 with nine of those shots on target for a .750 shot on goal percentage.
The Knights finished the week 1-1-1.
This is the second Offensive Player of the Week accolades has earned in his career at UCF. This is the second straight Offensive Player of the Week for the Knights after Louis Perez received the first award of the season.
Jennings was named to The American Preseason All-Conference Team to start the season after earning First Team All-Conference at the end of the 2017 Campaign.
