UCF Races At Head of the Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF rowing team opened fall competition on Saturday at the Head of the Oklahoma.

A pair of UCF eight boats lined up at the Boathouse District in Oklahoma City for a 1 p.m. ET race that featured fellow American Athletic Conference opponents Tulsa and SMU.

The UCF squad consisting of Nicole Mayer, Chiara Ciullo, Julie Poulsen, Marija Medelinskaite, Grace Lindberg, Amy Licht, Leslie Lajoie, Shannon Perry and Lauryn Bench, finished second with a time of 14:32.19.

The Knights squad consisting of Jillian Jernas, Lara Maule, Luci Derrick, Michaela Gundrum, Magdalena Pasternak, Edvina Nesukaityte, Jacinta Kendall, Abbie Pritchard and Mia Cleary, finished 10th with a time of 14:58.34.

UCF also raced in the evening sprint, a 500m Grand Final between the Knights, Oklahoma, Alabama and Kansas. The Knights finished second with a time of 1:32.27.

Sunday action at the Head of the Oklahoma will consist of single and double racing, starting at 9:25 a.m. ET.
