PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (UCFKnights.com) – For just the second time this season, the UCF men’s soccer team was shutout as they dropped the American Athletic Conference opener, 1-0 to Temple.

Cal Jennings, Yoni Sorokin, Richard Amon, and Gorka Aperribay led the way with three shots each, while Hattabiou Barry added a pair.

The Knights move to 5-2-1 on the season as they close out their three-game road trip.

TEM | 21:15 | Lukas Fernandes deeked out Yannik Oettl inside the 18-yard box to tap in the first goal of the match.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • At the end of the first, the Knights outshot the Owls, 8-6, while both teams recorded four shots on goal.
  • Oettl made five saves on the evening, his season high.
  • C.J. Campbell received his first start of the season after helping the Knights defeat Stetson last week.
  • UCF outshot Temple 19-11 as they continue to tally up their season shot total.
  • The Knights held the advantage in corner kicks, 6-1.
  • The series with the Owls not sits at 2-2-2.
