Men's Hoops Announces Complete Schedule

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – One of the most challenging and most highly televised schedules in UCF men’s basketball history was announced on Wednesday.

The non-conference schedule, which was released this summer, has been updated to include most tip times and television networks, including the anticipated rematch against Alabama on Nov. 29. The Knights and the Crimson Tide will tip-off at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.

The Sunday, Dec. 2 game at Missouri will air on ESPNU at 3 p.m., while the rest of the non-conference home games will still be on networks yet to be announced. Games at the Myrtle Beach Invitational will be on either ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3.

New to the schedule is the American Athletic Conference portion, which gets started on Jan. 2 when the Knights host Temple at 7 p.m. on ESPNews. Interestingly, UCF will also end the conference slate with a matchup against the Owls, closing out the regular season Mar. 9 in Philly on either ESPN2 or ESPNews.

Only playing the newest member of the league once this season, UCF will head back to Wichita to take on the Shockers on Jan. 16. The late-night game is scheduled for 10 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Last season marked the first time the Knights defeated UConn at CFE Arena. They’ll attempt to do it again when the Huskies make their way to Orlando on Jan. 31 for a 9 p.m. tip on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. UCF will play at UConn on Jan. 5.

An NCAA Tournament team from a year ago, Houston is set to challenge the Knights in Orlando on Feb. 7 with a 7 p.m. tip time on CBS Sports Network. The Cougars will then welcome UCF to their new arena on March 2 for a game scheduled for 4 p.m. on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

The annual War On I-4 Rivalry Series for men’s basketball will be Feb. 13 in Orlando and Feb. 27 in Tampa. UCF has defeated South Florida in each of the last six meetings between the two teams.

Another win streak for the Knights, UCF has defeated historical powerhouse Memphis in four straight games. The Tigers and new head coach Penny Hardaway will return to Orlando for a Feb. 16 game at 6 p.m. on either ESPN2 or ESPNU. The Knights travel to FedEx forum on Jan. 27.

Defending league champs and one of the favorites in The American, Cincinnati is set to come to Orlando on March 7 for the Knights’ Senior Day. The last time the Bearcats traveled to CFE Arena on Senior Day, UCF upset then No. 15 Cincinnati.  The Knights will visit the Bearcats’ new arena on Feb. 21 with both game scheduled to be televised on either ESPN or ESPN2 at 7 p.m.

The American Athletic Conference Championship will be held in Memphis at the FedEx Forum. The First Round will be March 14 with daily competition through the Championship on Sunday, March 17.
