SOUTH KENT, Conn. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s golf team have been crowned back-to-back Hartford Hawk Champions after shooting 550(-26) after 36 holes at the Bull’s Bridge Golf Club.

Bobby Bai earned the individual championship after shooting a nice round of 69 Tuesday for a total of 135(-9) for the two rounds. This is Bai’s second individual championship in his collegiate career.

This is head coach Bryce Wallor’s 22nd victory since he took the helm in 2010.

The Knights finished nine strokes ahead second place team, Connecticut, while Bai finished one stroke better than conference opponent, Nabeel Khan, for first place.

After the first round, the Knights were one stroke ahead of UConn, but the Knights showed up again for round two with all five members of the team shooting par or better.

Kyler Tate led the team on day two compiling three straight birdies and five in total to finish five-under with a 67 and in fourth place.

Tommy Cao finished the second round with a 69(-3) improving his second-round score by eight holes from the first round, while senior Jalen Ledger shot par with a 72 to finish tied for fifth with teammate Clement Charmasson.

Pedro Lencart Silva concludes his first collegiate Invitational with a 71 during the final 18-holes for a two-day total of 141(-3) and tied for 12th.

Charmasson, who competed as an individual, wrapped up his first collegiate tournament tied for fifth place with a 71 on Tuesday. The newcomer was the highest finisher who competed as an individual with a final score of 139(-5).

As a team, the Knights finished with 44 total birdies and finished ahead of 19 other teams including Rhode Island, Cal Poly, Sacred Heart, and Towson.
