Knights Roll Into Knoxville

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s golf team returns to action this week with a quick trip to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship Sept. 17-18.

The two-day tournament will consist of 54-holes as UCF will battle with thirteen other teams including Tennessee, Ole Miss, Maryland, Kentucky, and BYU.

Head coach Emily Marron announced the lineup as Elizabeth Moon, Maria Balcazar, Alyssa Lamoureux, Anna Hack, and Chinatsu Kobayashi will represent the Knights.

Newcomer Moon was last week’s best finisher for UCF shooting one-under par with rounds of 74 and 69, while Balcazar was close behind with a two-round total of 145(+1).

Lamoureux, the Knights’ other freshman, had a solid finish in her first collegiate tournament posting rounds of 72 and 74 for a 36th place finish. Hack had a consistent outing at the Cougar Classic with back-to-back rounds of 75.

Sophomore Kobayashi will make her 2018-19 debut after a promising freshman campaign. The Chiba, Japan native competed at eight events last season carrying a 76.9 stroke average for the Knights. Her best finish came at the American Athletic Championship where she finished tied for 22nd.
