ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – On Saturday morning, the UCF cross country team will host the UCF Knights Cross Country Invitational.
The women’s 5K race will start at 7:45 a.m. at the UCF Softball Complex. A men’s 8K race will follow at 8:30 a.m.
The Knights, who will host their first home cross country meet since 2015, return to action after a bye week.
The Black and Gold opened the 2018 campaign at the FAU Invitational on Aug. 31. Four Knights finished in the top 20 of the 5K race, with nearly every returning Knight posting an improved 5K time. UCF earned a third place finish overall as a squad.
Victoria Jung posted a collegiate-best time of 18:57.52 for fifth place, and was joined in the top 10 by Jessica Dolan, who crossed the line in a personal-best 19:14.91.
Kaitlyn Soltis, Shayla Sanders, Crystal Tejeda, Kayla McGowan and Shiree Hinds all represented the Knights at FAU and will compete at a home meet for the first time in their UCF careers.
