ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – After playing his first season of professional basketball with the Miami Heat and Sioux Falls Skyforce, Matt Williams is heading overseas for year two. The former UCF star will play for KPT-Basket in Finland.
KTP-Basket competes in the Korisliiga, the top professional basketball league in Finland. KTP has won six Finnish Championships, but has not done so since 1994.
Williams signed a two-way deal with the Heat after going undrafted out of UCF. He played three games with the Heat with the majority of his action coming with the Skyforce.
This summer Williams participated in the G-League Elite Mini Camp and then played in the NBA Summer League with the Chicago Bulls.
Williams scored over 1,000 points with the Knights and holds the single-game, single-season and career record for three-pointers made at UCF.
