ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) –
The UCF women’s soccer team continues its homestand with a Thursday night contest against George Mason at the UCF Soccer Complex.

The match will begin at 7 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. The match will stream on UCFKnights.TV.

The first 200 UCF students will receive a free UCF flag.

The Knights

  • UCF is on a three-match unbeaten streak as the Knights play their second consecutive home contest.
  • Zandy Soree posted her first multi-goal outing as a Knight, bagging two in the win over Florida on Monday. She leads the Knights with four goals and nine total points on the season.
  • Stefanie Sanders collected three points in the win over the Gators with a goal and an assist in the victory.
  • Kristen Scott scored her first collegiate marker in the final seconds at Miami. Konya Plummer tallied her first goal as a Knight in the draw at Maryland.
  • Vera Varis has been solid in goal for the Knights, making 20 saves with a 0.76 goals-against average in 2018.
  • In its first five games, UCF faced an opponent from the Big 12 (Texas), ACC (North Carolina, Miami), Big Ten (Maryland) and SEC (Florida).

 

The Patriots

  • George Mason enters the match with a 4-3 overall record, having won three of its last four outings.
  • Thursday’s contest marks the eighth meeting between the two programs, but the first time the squads will face off since 1991. The Patriots lead the all-time series 5-1-1.
  • Emma van der Vorst leads George Mason with four goals on the year, but six Patriots have tallied markers in 2018.
  • A trio of players have seen time in goal, with Morgan Symmers making five starts. In her six appearances, she’s allowed nine goals for a 1.71 goals-against average.
