ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Although he recently graduated from UCF with a bachelor’s degree in finance, Manuel is still golfing and a part of the UCF men’s golf program. Elvira has been named a volunteer assistant coach joining head coach Bryce Wallor and assistant coach Richard Donegan on staff.
While he begins his coaching career, Elvira is also competing for a spot on the Web.com Tour. In his most recent tournament, Elvira finished tied for 13th in the pre-qualifying stage at The Conservatory at Hammock Beach in Palm Coast, Fla.
During the three-round tournament, Elvira shot an impressive 213 (-3) including a round one score of 70 (-2) and a round two score of 66 (-6). The Santander, Spain native is one of 34 qualifiers moving on to the First Stage from The Conservatory course. There were six pre-qualifying stage locations in total.
In order to earn a spot on the Web.com Tour, Elvira must make the cut at the First, Second, and Final stages.
Elvira will find out where he will compete in the First Stage later in the week, which will take place the first week of October.
2018-19 SEASON
The Knights open the season on Sept. 17 at the Hartford Hawks Invitational in South Kent, Conn.
