ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s soccer team has officially opened the 2018 campaign as they held their first day of training Wednesday.
Fitness testing in the morning session kicked off the day followed by an afternoon session of on-field work.
In three days, UCF will host Eastern Florida State College to the UCF Soccer Complex for the first of two preseason exhibitions. Admission is free on Saturday for the 7 p.m. match. The duel with the Titans will allow fans to get their first look at the 2018 squad in head coach Scott Calabrese’s second season.
The Knights are coming off an 8-6-2 season after finishing second in conference play in both the regular season and The American tournament. The 2018 squad returns 20 Knights including all-conference honorees, Cal Jennings, Yoni Sorokin, Andreas Steineger, Hattabiou Barry, and Louis Perez.
10 home matches highlight the Knights’ 2018 schedule. Battles with Penn State, West Virginia, and Virginia Tech get the season going for UCF.
