Knights Claim 4-1 Victory

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s soccer team racked up four goals in their 4-1 victory over Eastern Florida Saturday evening at the UCF Soccer Complex.

“This match was really about preparation and learning a little bit more about our team,” head Coach Scott Calabrese said. “This is something we can really build on in these coming days as we prepare for our next preseason match.”

UCF came ready to play netting three goals in the first half thanks to Hattabiou Barry and Richard Amon. A goal from Noah Murphy in the second half helped the Knights secure their victory. Cal Jennings, Louis Perez, Max Stiegwardt, and Amon each tallied assists.

26 Knights recorded minutes against the Titans with a total of 13 shots taken to Eastern Florida’s 10.

All three keepers saw action in goal for UCF and registered a total of four saves.

This was the first of two exhibition matches for the Knights as they take on FAU next Saturday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. in Boca Raton to wrap up the preseason.

The Black and Gold kickoff the regular season on the road with a match against Penn State on Aug. 24 at 7 p.m.
