Exhibition With Eastern Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s soccer team is prepping for the beginning of their fall season with an exhibition Saturday evening against Eastern Florida at 7 p.m. Admission is free at the UCF Soccer Complex.

This will be the first ever meeting between the Knights and the Titans. Last season, Eastern Florida collected a 12-3 record including a nine-game winning streak in the second half of their season but lost in the Southeast District Championship to close out their season.

In the United Coaches Preseason poll, the Knights are receiving votes (11) after their strong finish in the 2017 campaign.

The Knights are coming off an 8-6-2 season after finishing second in conference play in both the regular season and The American tournament. The 2018 squad returns 20 Knights including all-conference honorees, Cal Jennings, Yoni Sorokin, Andreas Steineger, Hattabiou Barry, and Louis Perez.

UCF added four defensemen, two midfielders, and a keeper to be ready to compete for the 2018 campaign.

This will mark the first of two exhibition matches for the Black and Gold before they open regular season play on the road against Penn State and Aug. 24. The Knights will host UC Irvine in their home opener on Monday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.

10 home matches highlight the Knights’ 2018 schedule. Battles with Penn State, West Virginia, and Virginia Tech get the season going for UCF.
