Scott Ryerson - Football (1980-83) - Class of 2002
Scott Ryerson came to UCF from nearby Boone High School in 1980 and wound up having one of the most prolific careers by a UCF kicker all-time. The pinnacle of his career that spanned from 1980-83 was earning All-America honors in 1981. That season, he led the team in scoring with 62 points and had kicked four field goals of 50 yards or longer.
He set the school record for field goals in a game with four and holds the season record with 18. He also holds the record for 50-yard field goals in a game with two, 50-yard field goals in a season with four and 50-yard field goals in a career with six. He accounted for six of the top 12 longest field goals in UCF history.
Ryerson is fourth on the list of career field goals with 32. He holds the UCF record for points kicking in a game with 17 and is fourth in career points kicking with 149. He led the Golden Knights in scoring twice, including 1981 when he tallied 62 points.
He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL in 1983, but passed on that offer, opting instead to sign with the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent.
