David Rhodes earned All-America honors in 1993 and 1994 and set the school record for career yards (3,618) and career receptions (213), breaking the records previously held by UCF Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Sean Beckton.

Rhodes also set the school record holder for career 100-yard games (16) and career touchdowns receptions (29), and finished third in career all-purpose yards (3,689). He signed with the Cincinnati Bengals after leaving UCF and also spent time in NFL Europe.

He returned to UCF to earn his master's degree and recently earned a law degree from the University of Florida.
