2018 Preview - The football season is just around the corner. Leading into camp, fans will have an opportunity to get a look at what the Knights will have in store for the 2018 campaign with position-by-position previews. Watch highlights of returners and read up on what to expect this fall.
QUARTERBACKS
The Knights return just one quarterback who has ever taken a collegiate snap. Fortunately, for UCF, that signal-caller is one of the best in the nation.
Junior McKenzie Milton finished eighth in voting for the Heisman Trophy in 2017. He was the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, the Most Valuable Player in the AAC Championship game and the Offensive MVP of the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
By the end of the 2017 season, Milton was listed among the Top 10 in the nation in 10 different NCAA statistical categories. He finished No. 2 in passing efficiency and yards per attempt (behind only Heisman winner and No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick Baker Mayfield). Milton was No. 4 in total offense, passing touchdowns and completion percentage. He finished No. 5 in points responsible for and yards per completion.
Milton also completely re-wrote the UCF record book last season. The multi-talented trigger man set or tied school single-season records for: passing yards, passing touchdowns, total offense, quarterback rushing yards, passing efficiency, passing yards per attempt, touchdowns responsible for, 300-yard passing games, 400-yard passing games and consecutive completions.
He also broke school single-game records for: passing efficiency, completion percentage, passing yards per attempt and total offense.
Highly-touted Darriel Mack Jr. redshirted last season. He was the All-Tidewater Player of the Year for Norview High School in Norfolk, Va. in 2016.
Hayden Kingston spent his first season of college football at Wake Forest. He transferred to UCF last season, but did not see action.
