#BuiltByUCF – A look at what our Knights in the Pros have been up to this season. All summer, fans can check in on former stars of the Black and Gold as they continue to excel at the next level.
Matt Williams (2012-17)
• Scored 1,105 career points in four seasons at UCF
• Set program records for three-pointers in a career (274), a season (126), and a game (11)
• Averaged 15.1 points per game as a senior, leading UCF to the NIT Semifinals
• His 38 points scored against USF were the third most ever by a Knight in the Division I era
• Logged 1,315 minutes on the court as a senior, more than any other UCF player in a single season
Matt Williams is just one year removed from his time as a UCF Knight. This time last summer, the program's all-timer leader in threes was signing a two-way contract with the Miami Heat and getting set for the NBA Summer League in Orlando and Las Vegas.
Williams, who spent most of his season with the Heat's G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, made three appearances for Miami. He scored his first NBA points on Dec. 26 when he unsurprisingly connected on a three-pointer against his hometown Orlando Magic.
With the Skyforce, Williams averaged 10.2 points and 25.6 minutes per game, checking into 43 contests. He shot 38.9 percent from three-point range and made 124 from long distance, which ranked as the third most in a single-season for the Skyforce.
Williams recently participated in the ninth annual G League Elite Mini Camp. The May event was a chance to showcase in front of NBA team personnel.
To start the 2018-19 season, Williams will compete with the Chicago Bulls, joining the team for the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The Summer League will feature all 30 NBA Teams from July 6-17.
