Top 10 Moments – The first two years under head coach Johnny Dawkins have included a number of great moments for UCF Men's Basketball. With a highly anticipated third season coming up in 2018-19, we're counting down the Top 10 Moments in the Johnny Dawkins era so far.
#8 – B.J. AND A.J. SCORE 1,000 POINTS
They'll be remembered as two of the best players in recent history for the UCF men's basketball program.
Some will look back on B.J. Taylor and A.J. Davis playing integral roles in the Knights' run to the NIT Semifinals in 2016-17. Others will remember Taylor's game-winner against Houston or Davis's career game against Wichita State.
But this past season, the two friends and teammates accomplished something not many can claim, and they did it together.
Heading into the 2017-18, only 18 UCF players had scored 1,000 points in their career. Taylor and Davis did in the same season, only 11 days apart, with two games in between.
With 22 points tonight, B.J. Taylor has become the 19th member of UCF's 1,000-Point Club.

Taylor, who has led UCF in scoring in each of his three seasons on the court, reached the 1,000-point mark on Feb. 11 on the road at Tulsa. The Orlando native scored 26 points and with his 22nd point, a free throw, Taylor became the 19th member of UCF's exclusive club.
Davis, meanwhile, almost reached the 1,000-mark in a 31-point outburst against Wichita State two days earlier, but instead did it on Senior Day. With his first basket against Tulane in the final game of the regular season, Davis scored his 1,000th point, finishing his last game at CFE Arena with 11 points.
