SARASOTA, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF rowing team will remain in the Sunshine State for the 2018 NCAA Championships, which begin Friday at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.

No stranger to the water in Sarasota, UCF will race at Nathan Benderson Park for the third time this season. The Knights made the trip west for races against fellow NCAA opponents Wisconsin and Jacksonville earlier during the regular season. The squad won its third American Athletic Conference championship there last season, sweeping all six events to take home the title.

UCF's four-time conference champion Varsity Eight boat, seeded 20th, will race at 9:06 a.m. on Friday.
The Second Varsity Eight, also a four-time conference champion, is seeded 20th and will race at 9:38 a.m. on Friday. UCF's Varsity Four is seeded 18th heading into the championship and will race at 9:54 a.m.

The results of Friday's morning races will determine UCF's racing schedule for the remainder of the weekend.

Last season, the Black and Gold posted the highest finish in program history at 18th in the team standings. Both the V8 and 2V8 collected 18th place finishes, while the V4 earned 20th in its event.

The 2018 NCAA Rowing Championships are hosted by UCF and Nathan Benderson Park and will take place May 25-27 in Sarasota.
