ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF baseball team earned the no. 5 seed in the 2018 American Athletic Conference Tournament, presented by Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, at Spectrum Field in Clearwater, Fla.
The Knights (35-19, 13-10) will play the first game of the tournament on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. against the No. 4 seed ECU. As the lower seed, the Black and Gold will be the away team for their first game of the week. The American Athletic Conference Tournament features a double-elimination format.
With a win in the opener, the Black and Gold will then play on Thursday afternoon against the winner of No. 1 seed Houston and No. 8 Wichita State. A loss would send the Knights to a 7 p.m. elimination game on Wednesday night.
The American launched its new American Digital Network Plus Facebook page to stream every game leading up to the championship. The American Athletic Conference Championship Game will be televised on ESPNews at Noon on Sunday.
UCF concluded its regular season on Friday night with a doubleheader sweep of Tulane. Seniors Logan Heiser and Max Wood lifted the Knights to back-to-back walk-off wins.
