ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The 2018 UCF Basbeall regular season officially came to a conclusion on Saturday afternoon, after the series finale at John Euliano Park against Tulane was cancelled due to thunderstorms in the Orlando area.

The Knights swept Friday's doubleheader against the Green Wave. Logan Heiser started his final weekend at John Euliano Park with a walk-off double in the bottom of the 12th inning to lift the Black and Gold to a 7-6 victory. In the nightcap, senior Max Wood drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth in a 3-2 win.

After the game was cancelled, UCF honored seniors Logan Heiser, Eric Hepple, David Phrathep, Max Wood and Nick McCoy. Together, this group of seniors guided UCF to more than 130 wins over the last four years, including the first American Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship in program history.

In what was supposed to be held prior to the game, all five seniors received a framed jersey during a special ceremony in the John Euliano Park Premium Club in front of teammates, friends and family.

UCF finished the season with a 35-19 record overall and a 13-10 mark in The American. The Black and Gold will open play in the American Athletic Conference Tournament presented by Visit St. Pete/Clearwater on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. UCF will be the No. 5 seed against the No. 4 seed ECU.

Marc Daniels will have the call for all the games in Clearwater on 96.9 FM/740 AM The Game. The American will stream every game on The American Digital Network Plus Facebook page.
