ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – With two months remaining in the fiscal year, UCF Athletics has already broken a recently-set record for cash gift revenues.

The 2017 fiscal year saw records for cash gift revenues ($10.7 million) and total commitments ($17.3 million). For the 2018 fiscal year to-date, UCF's Championship Resources unit has already realized cash gift revenues of $10.9 million. The gift commitment total is currently at nearly $16 million and that total is expected to surpass last year's total by the end of the fiscal year.

"Thanks to the generosity of many wonderful people who want to help us attain our vision of becoming a Top 25 intercollegiate athletics department, we've been very successful in fund-raising the last few years," UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White said. "Mark Wright and his team have done a great job of cultivating relationships and identifying people with the capacity to make transformational gifts. These donors believe we're headed in the right direction and want to help accelerate our growth. We can't thank them enough."

Wright, who serves as Deputy AD for Championship Resources, said support for UCF Athletics has never been better than it is currently.

"There is so much interest from our fans, friends and alumni right now. Almost everyone I talk with wants to know how they can help," Wright said. "It's an exciting time to be involved with the Knights. Much of our past success has been due to the support of some amazing community friends. Now, we're starting to see many highly-successful UCF alumni start to get involved as well. Combining our community friends with these invested alumni, our future is very bright."

All these gift commitments are included in UCF Athletics' participation in the UCF IGNITE Campaign, which publicly launched in 2016 and is slated to end in 2019. The goal is to raise $500 million university-wide. UCF Athletics has now contributed $80 million to the IGNITE Campaign with a goal of $85 million.
