ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- After one round at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, Kaeli Jones was 3-over par and tied for 53rd place Monday. The tournament is being held at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course.
Jones opened play on the back nine and started strong. She tallied a birdie on the Par 4 11th hole, bogeyed the Par 3 13th and responded with a birdie on No. 15. Jones was 1-under at the turn.
The front nine wasn't as kind to the senior. She tallied a double bogey on No. 2 and bogeys on Nos. 3, 6 and 8. Jones once again responded and finished on a positive note with a birdie on her final hole to finish up with a first-round score of 75 ( 3).
Jones will look to climb the leaderboard in Tuesday's second round. As an individual, she has an opportunity to advance to the NCAA Championship round if she's among the three lowest individuals on a non-advancing team.
