ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 38 UCF men's tennis team continues its road trip Friday with another trek to Oklahoma. The Knights will take on Tulsa in an American Athletic Conference showdown at 7 p.m.
The Knights (9-7, 0-0) will open up their first of three conference matches versus the Golden Hurricane (10-14, 1-2), before traveling to Memphis April 8 and then finishing with USF at home April 15 in a College Matchday showcase.
UCF has won four of their last five matches, with a 4-0 loss to Oklahoma State on March 30 most recently.
The Black and Gold are led by senior Korey Lovett, who along with freshman Eero Vasa continue to be amongst the best doubles pairs in the country, currently checking in at No. 10 in the Oracle/ITA Division I rankings.
Lovett and Vasa have an overall 12-2 record playing together this season. Mikhail Sokolovskiy and Alan Rubio each lead the Knights with nine singles victories on the year.
Tulsa has lost its last four matches, all versus top 30 opponents, including dropping a 7-0 decision to No. 12 Texas on March 25.
The Golden Hurricane are led by Joshua Goodger and Majed Kilani who currently sit at No. 95 and 114 respectively in the singles ranks. Goodger and Jarod Hing also check in at No. 53 in doubles.
