AUSTIN, Texas (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF rowing team collected a pair of wins at the Longhorn Invite at Walter E. Long Lake on Saturday morning.
 
The Second Varsity Four won the B Final with a time of 7:56.013, more the three seconds ahead of second place Alabama. UCF's Second Varsity Eight also won its B Final, edging No. 18 Oklahoma by more than six seconds with a winning time of 7:03.298.
 
The morning started with the UCF's Second Varsity Four, consisting of Elena Esteban, Paula Parks, Danielle Wilson, Magdalena Pasternak and Jacinta Kendall, finishing third in its heat with a time of 7:34.30.
 
The Varsity Eight, consisting of Nicole Mayer, Lara Maule, Rachel Rabinowitz, Julie Poulsen, Marija Medelinskaite, Grace Lindberg, Mia Cleary, Viktorija Senkute and Luci Derrick, followed with a third place finish in its heat, crossing the line in 6:37.639.
 
The Second Varsity Eight, consisting of Catherine Harms, Alyssa Ramos, Ieva Medelinskaite, Rusne Dziugyte, Sydney Hays, Leslie Lajoie, Shannon Perry, Edvina Nesukaityte and Michaela Gundrum, finished third in its heat with a time of 6:47.358.
 
The Varsity Four, consisting of Jillian Jernas, Aly Derksen, Abbie Pritchard, Darby Brooks and Jessica Matteson, took fourth in its heat with a time of 7:44.316.
 
UCF's Third Varsity Eight, consisting of Alexis Greer, Anna Edkins, Jessica Scales, Caitlin Ross, Jordan Jahosky, Eileen Acken, Tatum Cox, Demi Dorsey and Nicole Snyder, finished fourth in its heat with a time of 7:22.393.
 
After a quick break, the boats headed out for the Finals session. The 2V4 started the second round off with its B Final win.
 
The 3V8 followed with a third place finish in the B Final, crossing the line in 8:07.537. UCF's V4 finished third in the B Final with a time of 8:21.762.
 
The 2V8 picked up UCF's second B Final victory. UCF's V8 closed out the day with a time of 7:13.270 for a second place finish in the B Final.

UCF finished sixth in the team standings, just two points shy of No. 18 Oklahoma.
 
The Knights now turn their focus to the 2018 American Athletic Conference Championship. The three-time defending champions will race for a fourth consecutive title at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, N.J., on May 12.
