WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (UCFKnights.com) – Bobby Bai was crowned champion at the 15th annual Boilermaker Invitational after the third and final round was canceled on Sunday due to unplayable conditions.

Bai finished with a 139 for 36 holes shooting 70 (-2) for the first 18 and a 69 (-3) for the second round. The sophomore beat out Kyle Mueller from Michigan and Duncan McNeill from Toledo by one stroke to take the title.

Bai converted four birdies in the first 18 holes and followed up the second round of 18 with eight birdies in total and an eagle on the seventh hole. The Shantou, China native also led the pack in averages strokes for par fives with a 4.25 average. For the two rounds, he shot six under on par five holes.

As a team, UCF finished in ninth shooting back-to-back rounds of 264 for 588 on Saturday. The Knights concluded the Invitational ahead of Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Wichita State, while Kent State and Northwestern were deemed co-champions both shooting 579 (+6).

The Knights tied for first in average strokes for par five holes averaging 4.83 strokes per par five. For the Invitational, UCF sank 26 birdies, parred 106 holes, and drained an eagle.

Donnie Trosper finished 20th overall with a 146 after 36 holes shooting just one over par in each round. Juuso Kahlos closed out his rounds in third for the Knights with scores of 75 (+3) and 76 (+4) for the opening rounds, while Manuel Elvira settled close behind with two rounds of 76 (+4).

Kyler Tate shot 155 for 36 holes, and Jalen Ledger, who is competed as an individual, shot 162 in his first rounds of the season.
