ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 19 UCF women's tennis team hits the road for its final two regular season matches this weekend, beginning with a visit to No. 29 Tulsa for a 6 p.m. start Friday and then No. 34 Wichita State Sunday for a 1 p.m. showdown.
The Knights (17-2, 4-0) will look to extend their win streak past 11 against a couple of the American Athletic Conference's formidable teams leading up to next week's Conference Championship in Dallas.
"It's no secret the last part of our schedule is tough," said UCF head coach Bryan Koniecko. "Tulsa and Wichita State are both really good programs that are having really good years. It seems like us three, and maybe a couple others will be battling for the conference title."
UCF is coming off a 4-0 sweep of Rice April 6. That match marked the fifth shutout for the Black and Gold this season.
Oracle/ITA Division I No. 120 ranked singles player, Rebeka Stolmar provided the clincher versus the Owls for her team leading 17th singles victory of the year.
Also climbing the ranks this week were the doubles pair of Ksenia Kuznetsova and Maria Martinez, who checked in at No. 51 in the latest rankings. The duo lead the Knights with an 11-3 record playing together this year.
