ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF softball team takes a quick break from conference play with a midweek matchup with North Florida on Wednesday, April 11 at 5:30 p.m. in Jacksonville, Fla.

A live stream will be available along with live stats which can be found on the softball schedule page. Wednesday's contest will also feature audio from Eric Lopez.

The Black and Gold are now 26-15 overall and 6-3 in the American Athletic Conference.

Alea White remains second in the nation in victories with 20 after picking up a win in UConn during the last road trip.

Cassady Brewer was named to The American Honor Roll on Monday after her performance on the field in the Knights' four games last week. Brewer compiled a .600 batting average over four games last week, as she led the Knights past No. 4 Florida going 3-for-3 and driving in the lone run of the game. In American play, Brewer blasted two home runs against UConn to finish the week with a 1.400 slugging percentage, 14 total bases, and six RBI.

Aubrey Johnson paces the squad with a .333 batting average with senior Megan Greenwell close behind hitting .327 on the season. The pair also lead the team in hits with 35 each, while freshman Denali Schappacher chases with 34 hits.

THE FIELD
UNF: 21-22 overall, 1-8 in the Atlantic Sun. The Knights hold the advantage in the series with the Ospreys, 11-5 as UCF has won the last four meetings.

In last season's matchup, the Knights edged the Ospreys , 2-1 with Brewer and Kyra Klarkowski each providing a hit and Brewer driving in the go-ahead run for the win.

RECAPPING THE LAST UCF OUTING
The Knights faced UConn for a three-game series in Storrs, Conn. dropping the series after winning the opening contest. White struck out 10 in the Knights' lone win, tying her career high. With the victory, White becomes the seventh pitcher in program history to record at least 20 wins. Shelby Turnier was the last UCF pitcher to accomplish this feat in 2016.

Brewer led the Knights offensively at the plate going 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and two walks on the day posting a 2.000 slugging percentage.

STRIKE OUT CANCER
April 14th will be "Strike Out Cancer" Game for softball. They will be wearing pink jerseys and we will be auctioning them off during the game. All proceeds will go to Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families by matching each child with a collegiate or high school athletic team.

The auction will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday when gates open. If you cannot make it out to the game, but would like to bid on a jersey, please contact Kyle Sheppard 321-749-4585. Auction will close after the last pitch of the 5th inning.
