USA Today Poll

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – For the second week in a row, the UCF women's basketball team earned a vote in the WBCA/USA Today Top 25.

The Knights earned the first vote in program history, based on information available to the UCF Athletic Communications office, in the Feb. 27 poll.

UCF (21-10) advanced to the semifinal of the American Athletic Conference Championship for the second straight season. After falling in the first round in their first three years in the league, the Knights have now earned a bye and won their quarterfinal matchup for two consecutive campaigns.

Redshirt senior Zakiya Saunders has paced the UCF offense, averaging 15.5 points per game, and scored the 1000th point of her career in the quarterfinal win over Temple on March 4. Sophomore Korneila Wright moved into the single season top 10 at the conference tournament and is currently tied for eighth with 135 assists on the campaign. She also averages 10.9 points per contest.

Redshirt junior Nyala Shuler has collected a career-best 221 rebounds and leads the Knights with an average of 7.1 boards per game. She ranks 10th all-time at UCF with 607 boards in her career. Freshman Masseny Kaba has collected 90 of her 196 rebounds on the offensive glass, and is second in rebounding with 6.3 boards per contest.

The Knights have matched their win total from the 2016-17 campaign, and reached back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1983-85.

UCF will wait to learn its postseason fate on March 12.
