ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's tennis team looks to get back into the win column Wednesday, as they welcome Penn State to the USTA National Campus for a 6 p.m. match.
The Knights (4-4, 0-0) most recently dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker to Baylor, who moved up to No. 24 in this weeks Oracle/ITA Division I polls.
UCF continued its strong play in doubles action, winning the opening point against both Baylor and No. 7 Michigan.
Korey Lovett and Eero Vasa took down Johannes Schretter and Will Little, who were No. 5 in the ORACLE/ITA Division I doubles rankings. Lovett and Vasa moved up to No. 11 in the rankings, and have been dominant in setting the pace for the Black and Gold as the No. 1 duo.
Alan Rubio came in at No. 124 in the singles rankings.
Penn State (6-5, 0-1) comes to Orlando winners of three of its last four matches, including a 4-3 victory over Western Michigan on March 2.
No. 94 Constant De La Bassetiere leads a Nittany Lion team of five juniors, four sophomores and two freshman.
