ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – For the second straight year, Rosie Chamberlain was named the American Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
 
A native of Exeter, England, Chamberlain holds a 3.914 grade-point average and will earn her degree in sport and exercise science in May.
 
She has been on the President's Honor Roll for a 4.0 GPA for four consecutive semesters. In 2015, she earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors and she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team in 2016.
 
On the track, Chamberlain is a two-time 800-meter American Athletic Conference indoor champion and has finished in the top two at three straight indoor championships.  The current indoor 800-meter record holder, she has earned all-conference accolades over the last three seasons, and helped UCF capture its first indoor championship in The American in 2017. Chamberlain was also named Newcomer of the Year in 2015 and collected the Coaches Award in 2016.
 
Also active in the community, Chamberlain has volunteered with Relay for Life, the Boys and Girls Club, Pack to Attack Hunger, Clean the World, Knights Youth Day, U Can Finish and Special Olympics. In March 2016, she assisted in coordinating and running an Autism Awareness Walk prior to the UCF Black and Gold Challenge. She is also a member of the UCF Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and has participated in the Student-Athlete Leadership Institute.
