#36 UCF Falls on the Road

STILLWATER, Okla. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 36 UCF men's tennis team's win streak came to an end on the road Friday, with the Knights falling 4-0 to No. 18 Oklahoma State.

UCF (9-7) had won five straight heading into its matchup with the perennial power Cowboys (18-4).

The Knights battled out the gate to split the first two matches in doubles play, which has been a major strength of the Black and Gold this season, but couldn't muster a win in the deciding match at No. 2.

Oracle/ITA Division I No. 7 nationally ranked duo of Korey Lovett and Eero Vasa continue to thrive at No.1, earning a 6-2 victory over Artur Dubinski and Leftherios Theodorou.

The doubles clinch was had by Mathieu Scaglia and Julian Cash, who were pushed to a tiebreak by Gabriel DeCamps and Mikhail Sokolovskiy, but prevailed, 7-6 (7-0).

The Cowboys earned singles wins at No. 5, No. 3, and No. 2.

Luke Hammond defeated Eero Vasa, 6-3, 6-3 to make it 2-0 Oklahoma State. Shortly after¸ Scaglia pushed past Alan Rubio, 6-4, 6-3 to put the Cowboys one match away from the clinch.

The winner came at No. 2, when Tristan Meraut took DeCamps to three sets and won, 0-6, 6-1, 6-4 for the Cowboys fourth straight win.

UP NEXT
The Knights will continue their road trip in Oklahoma, as the Black and Gold face American Athletic Conference for Tulsa April 6 in a 7 p.m. match.
