ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Sunday afternoon marks the final regular season home game for A.J. Davis, Djordjije Mumin and Nathan Laing, as the Knights host Tulane at 4:30 p.m. for Senior Day at CFE Arena.

Celebrating the careers of their three seniors isn't the only thing to be excited about on Sunday. The Knights (17-12, 8-9) have an opportunity to increase their seeding at next week's American Athletic Conference Championship with a win.

Going into the final day of league play, UCF can finish as high as fifth in the standings, and as low as eighth.  The Knights will be the five seed if they win and ECU defeats Memphis. If Memphis wins, UCF will be the sixth seed if it wins and Tulsa tops Temple, but the seven seed if the Owls take down the Golden Hurricane.

The Green Wave (14-15, 5-12) is currently in 10th place in the standings and will remain there unless they win on Sunday, USF defeats SMU, and Wichita State takes down Cincinnati. In that scenario, Tulane will be the nine seed.

Whatever results come from all of Sunday's competition, the Knights are mainly aiming to gain momentum heading into next week's tournament. UCF has lost three in a row, but Thursday's overtime loss to no. 11 Wichita State was a step in the right direction.

Davis and B.J. Taylor scored a combined 54 points and almost knocked off the Shockers, who can still claim a share of the regular season title and the top seed in the tournament with a win over no. 10 Cincinnati on Sunday.

First Round action in The American Tournament begins on Thursday at the Amway Center. Play continues through Sunday's Championship at 3:10 p.m.
