GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The Pepsi Florida Relays are off to a strong start for the UCF track and field team. The Knights opened action on Thursday at Percy Beard Track with the 200-meter dash.
Two of the three Knights turned in personal-best performances, and all three posted sub-25.00 second times.
Shaniya Williams crossed the line in 23.98, a personal best for the rookie, to win her heat. She placed 21st overall. Loren Gallmon followed with a personal best time of 24.42 to win her heat and finished 40th overall. Ciara Holback joined the trio in the top 50, as she crossed the line in 24.64 to finish 47th overall.
The Knights continue Pepsi Florida Relays action on Friday, beginning with the hammer throw at noon.
