ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Wednesday marked the fifth practice of spring ball for the UCF football team, and there's still no slowing down the Knights.

"Practice at a high level. That was the biggest emphasis of this week," defensive coordinator Randy Shannon told the media following this morning's practice.

Taking full advantage of the second day in full pads, offensive lineman Tyler Hudanick has just been excited to hit people again.

"It's exciting to get out there in the pads, hitting people," Hudanick said. "I can't wait to start hitting other people again. Today was a good practice and we just need to keep continuing to get better."

The Knights will look to get better again on Friday with the first scrimmage of spring. Along the way, one the goals of the staff is improve the entire team. Every player on the roster.

"The biggest thing that we have to do is develop depth on the football team," Shannon said. "We have to make sure the guys that are backups are playing at that (high) level. If we can feel like those guys are playing at that level, then we feel like we can do pretty good."

Hudanick, now a senior, echoed this statement, emphasizing the need to help the younger players.

"I'm an older guy now and I need to be a leader," he said. "I've had the experience so I need to bring these guys along, just like the guys in the past brought me along. I think day-by-day we're trying to set the example. Some of these younger guys are coming along quicker than I did and I'm excited for them."
