PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After two rounds at The Hayt Invitational, UCF men's golf is tied for fourth with No. 6 Auburn at the Sawgrass Country Club.
The Knights are four under on the day shooting a 293 in the first round and a 284 in the second for a 577 final, just eight behind the leader, No. 24 UNC, heading into day two.
Kyler Tate led the Knights' charge in the first 18 of the day shooting three under par for a 69. In his second round, Tate was one over on the front nine and one under on the back to break even as he currently sits tied for seventh overall.
Donnie Trosper started out with a rough eight over par in his first round but bounced back in the second 18 shooting seven under including an eagle on the eighth hole. Trosper birdied six holes in his second round.
Juuso Kahlos was two under after round one and three over in round two, while Manuel Elvira shot four over to start the day and came back to shoot par to cap off his first day.
The action continues on Monday, March 19 as the Knights cap off The Hayt with a final round of 18.
