ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) -  Right-handed pitcher Alea White earned Pitcher of the Week by the American Athletic Conference for the second straight week announced on Tuesday.
 
The sophomore appeared in six of the seven games for the Knights last week tossing 26 total innings posting a 0.27 earned run average. She went 4-1 on the week striking out 22 batters and allowing only one earned run.
 
White posted another shutout win, her fourth of the season, against Virginia Tech at the UCF Softball Complex allowing just three hits fanning seven.
 
The Land O' Lakes native tossed a four-hitter in the win over Chattanooga in the Under Armour Showcase in Clearwater to give the Knights their fourth straight win.
 
In the Showcase, White also led the Knights past Southern Illinois giving up her only earned run of the week to grab her 12th victory of the season with an 8-3 win.
 
Through 21 appearances, White has pitched a total of 112.1 innings recording 81 strikeouts and a 1.99 earned run average.
 
White continues to rank in the top five nationally in wins (12) among Division I pitchers and is top 15 in shutouts with four.
