ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF rowing team will officially begin its competitive season on Saturday as the Knights open the spring at the 38th Annual Metro Cup.
 
The Knights will line up on Lake Maitland in the traditional dual with Rollins College. UCF will race a pair of boats in five events – Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four, Second Varsity Four and Novice Four.
 
The Novice Four will start the day at 8:10 a.m., followed by the Second Varsity Eight at 9 a.m. The Varsity Four will race at 9:50 a.m., and the Second Varsity Eight will go at 10:40 a.m. The Varsity Eight will round out the day at 11 a.m.
 
The awards ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. in Winter Park.
 
The three-time defending American Athletic Conference champion, UCF will continue spring action on March 16, hosting UConn and Jacksonville on Lake Pickett. The Knights will race twice in Sarasota before heading to Clemson and Texas. The 2018 American Athletic Conference Championship will take place in Cherry Hill, N.C. on May 12.
