NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF track and field team captured a pair of top 10 finishes to open action at the Music City Challenge on Friday.
Shaniya Williams collected her second straight top 10 finish in the 200-meter dash. She crossed the line in 24.39, winning her heat and finishing seventh overall.
The Knights had a strong showing in the event, as Sarah Wollaston posted a personal-best time of 25.15 and Venida Fagan crossed the line in a season-best 25.45.
Natosha Jordan tied for eighth in the high jump, clearing 5-3.25 on her first attempt.
In the weight throw, Jhane' Carter took 15th with a throw of 60-4, while Shanell Atkins threw a season-best 59-1.25 to finish 17th.
Daneesha Davidson landed at a personal best 17-7 in the long jump, the third-best distance in her flight. She finished 17th overall.
UCF returns to action on Feb. 9, heading to Nashville for the two-day Music City Challenge.
