ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Senior Korey Lovett notched a pair of wins on Sunday as the UCF men's tennis team defeated Auburn on the road 6-1. For his efforts, the American Athletic Conference named him the Player of the Week.

The Brevard, N.C., native, along with playing partner Eero Vasa, posted a 6-4 over Edward Nguyen and Matteo De Vincentis to give UCF (2-2) the advantage in doubles, but Auburn rallied to take the opening point of the match.

Lovett squared off with Nguyen for the second time in singles action. The UCF senior nearly claimed a straight-set victory, but the Tigers' No. 1 edged Lovett in a second-set tiebreak. With the match already decided, Lovett rolled to a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 win.

The Knights will make their home debut on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. against North Florida at the USTA National Campus.
