ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After reaching the second round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship last season, the UCF volleyball team continues its preparations for the 2018 season. On Monday, the Knights announced their spring schedule with four dates.
The Black and Gold will play in a tournament at USF on Feb. 24, with matches against USF, FAU, FGCU and Polk State. The Knights were perfect against the three Division I opponents in 2017, dropping just a pair of sets across four matches.
While not an official contest in the rivalry series, UCF and USF will rekindle the War-On-I4 on March 24 in The Venue. In a pair of matches against the Bulls last year, UCF played flawless volleyball with back-to-back sweeps to close the regular season.
UCF will then take on Florida State on March 30 in Gainesville at Santa Fe College, before closing out the spring at home on April 13 against Florida Southern in The Venue.
Last year, the Knights posted a 20-14 record in head coach Todd Dagenais' 10th season. UCF finished the season winning seven of its last eight matches, including six sweeps. The Black and Gold return libero Jordan Pingel, outside hitter Kristina Fisher and a host of experienced talent for the 2018 campaign.
