ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's tennis team will play the final of its four-match stretch away from the USTA National Campus to start the year on Sunday with a trip to Auburn at Noon.

The Knights (1-2) split a pair of matches at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Los Angeles last week. Despite taking the doubles point, the Black and Gold could not keep up the momentum in singles play, falling to Utah State 4-2.

On Sunday, UCF was utterly dominant in a 4-1 victory over UC Davis. Senior Korey Lovett clinched the match at No. 1 singles, after rookies Alan Rubio and Mikhail Sokolovskiy tallied a pair of individual points.

The Black and Gold have turned to a quartet of rookies in the early stages of the 2018 campaign. Lovett and Danny Kerznerman are the lone veterans on the UCF squad. Gabriel Decamps has played will in initial contests with a 2-1 record at No. 2 singles, with his lone blemish coming against the No. 7 ranked player in the nation from Florida.

Lovett and Eero Vasa are perfect for the Knights in doubles action. The duo are 2-0 with a win over the No. 1 pairing in the nation.

Auburn is 6-2 to start the year. The Tigers picked up a pair of wins on Friday against Georgia State and Liberty. Sunday's hosts are 27-13 in singles play, with five players sporting a winning record. Doubles have been a much tighter affair for Auburn. The Tigers enter the weekend with a 2-5 record at No. 1, 3-3 at No. 2 and 3-2 at No. 3.
